Alaska Bowhunter Field Day Information

In order to complete the bowhunter education requirements for Alaska, you must pass both the online and Practical portions of the Bowhunter Ed Safety Course.

Follow the steps below to complete the certification process.

  1. After Passing the Online Course…

    Students must successfully complete a standardized proficiency shoot and blood trailing exercise under the supervision of a certified instructor.

  2. Sign-up for a Field Day…

    Go to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game bowhunter education web page to find Field Day locations and dates.

  3. Attend the Field Day

    Bring your Field Day Qualifier Certificate to the Field Day. After demonstrating proficiency at the Field Day, you'll receive your AK Bowhunter Education certificate.

    Each student must fill out a Student Consent Form (pdf) and present it to the instructor at your selected Field Day. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should fill it out and must sign it. Every student must also present their Field Day Qualifier Certificate to the instructor.
