Idaho Bowhunter Field Day Information

In order to complete the bowhunter education requirements for Idaho, you must pass both the online and Field Day portions of the Bowhunter Ed Safety Course.

Since Field Day options are limited, please ensure that a Field Day is offered in your area before taking the online exam. Field Days can fill quickly and completion of this online course does not guarantee you a spot at a Field Day.

Follow the steps below to complete the certification process.

  1. After Passing the Online Course…

Students must attend a Field Day led by Idaho DFG bowhunting instructors in order to complete the certification process.

  2. Sign-up for a Field Day…

Go to the Idaho DFG bowhunter education web page to register for a Field Day. (You'll enter your Field Day Qualifier Exam Certificate number as part of the registration.)

  3. Attend the Field Day

Bring your Field Day Qualifier Exam Certificate to the Field Day. The Field Day includes a four-hour classroom review, a final examination and field simulation activities. After demonstrating proficiency at the Field Day, you'll receive your Idaho Bowhunter Education Voucher.
