  • Identical online bowhunter course material is offered for each state. Whether or not your state accepts online testing, we invite you to browse any of the state websites listed below and learn more about the world of bow hunting.
  • The various state agencies have unique bowhunting exam guidelines and additional certification requirements. In general, passing the online exam allows students to bypass a classroom bowhunter course and register for a Field Day. At a Field Day, students must demonstrate knowledge learned online to a bow hunting instructor and possibly take a written, in-person examination. Please read your state's guidelines for complete information.

Successful completion of a recognized bowhunter education course is required by many states, provinces, or in special designated bowhunting areas such as some federal lands or urban bow hunting areas. In addition, it is possible that completion of a valid hunter education course might be required. Therefore, it is always advisable that you check with your state contact regarding all the bowhunting rules and regulations pertaining to the area where you are planning to hunt.

The Today's Bowhunter online course includes topics such as conservation law, the ‘unwritten law’ of the bowhunter, facts on how an arrow harvests game, bow hunting safety, how to practice for bowhunting, lures, calls, scents, bowhunting methods, shot placement, and the responsibilities of being a bowhunter.

Please browse any of the websites listed above and take a free bowhunter Practice Test. If are you taking a traditional classroom bowhunter education course, studying the material online will give you a great headstart on the materials to be presented in your bowhunting class!
