Welcome to the official online bowhunter safety course of the National Bowhunter Education Foundation and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources .

This bowhunter education course, has been developed in conjunction with the NBEF and the Kentucky DFWR.

Completing this course and passing the Field Day Qualifier Exam will prepare you for the DFWR Field Day, the second component of the required Bowhunter Education curriculum.

When you pass, immediately print out your official NBEF/IBEP Field Day Qualifier Certificate. This Certificate will serve as your admittance ticket to a Field Day.

Kentucky Bowhunter Education Requirements

  • Effective March 1, 1991, all hunters born on or after January 1, 1975, shall, while hunting, carry a valid hunter education course completion card in addition to the appropriate Kentucky hunting license.
  • A bowhunter not in possession of a firearm may carry a "National Bowhunter Education Program" course completion card in lieu of the hunter education card.
  • To complete the bowhunter education requirements for Kentucky, students must pass both the online course and Field Day or Add On.
