Montana Bowhunter Field Day Information

No additional Field Days will be offered after July 31, 2011 until 2012.
Field days are offered throughout spring and summer ending by July 31 each year.

In order to complete the bowhunter education requirements for Montana, you must pass both the online and Field Day portions of the Bowhunter Ed Safety Course.

Since Field Day options are limited, please ensure that a Field Day is offered in your area before taking the online exam. Field Days can fill quickly and completion of this online course does not guarantee you a spot at a Field Day.

Follow the steps below to complete the certification process.

  1. After Passing the Online Course…

Students must attend a Field Day led by Montana FWP bowhunting instructors in order to complete the certification process.

  2. Register Online for a Field Day…

Go to the Montana Bowhunter Education Online Field Day to search for and sign up for a Field Day in your area. In Montana all Field Days have to be completed by July 31 of each year.

  3. Attend the Field Day

Bring your Field Day Qualifier Certificate to the Field Day. After demonstrating proficiency in bow and arrow safety and hunting skills at the Field Day, you'll receive your Montana Bowhunter Education Certificate.
