New Mexico Field Day Qualifier Exam Information

In order to complete the bowhunter education requirements for New Mexico, you must pass both the online and Field Day portions of the Bowhunter Ed Safety Course.

Since Field Day options are limited, please ensure that a Field Day is offered in your area before taking the online exam. Field Days can fill quickly and completion of this online course does not guarantee you a spot at a Field Day.

Follow the steps below to complete the certification process.

  1. After Passing the Online Course…

    Students must attend an Instructor-led Field Day with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish in order to complete the certification process.

  2. Sign-up for a Field Day…

    Go to the New Mexico DGF website to locate and sign up for a Bowhunter Safety Field Day in your area. (You are advised to pre-schedule the field day prior to completing the online course to assure availability in your area.)

  3. Pass the In-person Field Day Exam

    Bring your Field Day Qualifier Voucher to the Field Day. After passing the Field Day exam, you'll receive your NM Bowhunter Education number.
