Ohio Bowhunter Field Day Information

In order to complete the bowhunter education requirements for Ohio, you must pass both the online and Field Day portions of the Bowhunter Ed Safety Course.

Since Field Day options are limited, please ensure that a Field Day is offered in your area before taking the online exam. Field Days can fill quickly and completion of this online course does not guarantee you a spot at a Field Day.

Follow the steps below to complete the certification process.

  1. After Passing the Online Course…

    Students must attend a Field Day led by Ohio DNR bowhunting instructors in order to complete the certification process.

  2. Sign-up for a Field Day…

    Call 1-800-945-3543 if you are in Ohio (or 614-265-6300 if you are out-of-state) to learn about Field Day options.

  3. Attend the Field Day

    Bring your Field Day Qualifier Certificate to the Field Day. After demonstrating proficiency in bow and arrow safety and hunting skills during the Field Day, you'll receive your Ohio Bowhunter Education Certificate.
