Pennsylvania Bowhunter Field Day Information

In order to complete the bowhunter education requirements for Pennsylvania, you must pass both the online and Field Day portions of the Bowhunter Ed Safety Course.

Since Field Day options are limited, please ensure that a Field Day is offered in your area before taking the online exam. Field Days can fill quickly and completion of this online course does not guarantee you a spot at a Field Day. (View a list of Field Days.)

Follow the steps below to complete the certification process.

  1. After Passing the Online Course…

    Students must attend a one-day, eight hour, Field Day instruction and skills class led by certified bowhunter education instructors in order to complete the certification process.

  2. Sign-up for a Field Day…

    Go to the Pennsylvania GFC online registration page to search for a Field Day in your area.

  3. Attend the Field Day

    Bring your Field Day Qualifier Certificate to the Field Day. After demonstrating proficiency in bow and arrow safety and hunting skills during the 8-hour Field Day, you'll receive your Pennsylvania Bowhunter Education Certificate.
