Bowhunter education is currently required in many states. An approved Bowhunter safety course is required to comply with the laws and regulations in those jurisdictions. Depending on your age, you may be required to have the Bowhunting Completion Certificate in order to legally buy a license or permit to hunt. Course Approval and Acceptance

Is the Connecticut Bowhunter Ed Course approved by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection?

The online Connecticut Bowhunter Ed Course is approved and accepted as the online requirement by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Is my Connecticut Bowhunting Completion Certificate accepted elsewhere?

All states and provinces that have mandatory bowhunter education requirements will accept the Bowhunting Completion Certificate. (This is known as “reciprocity.”)

Connecticut does not recognize education certificates issued by other states.

Quizzes and/or Exams

I failed a unit quiz. Have I failed the course?

If you fail a unit quiz, you must restudy the unit and take the quiz again until you pass. You must score at least 70% on the unit quizzes to pass.

Do I have to take an online exam?

The Modified Bowhunting Field Day Qualifier Exam is the exam you take at the end of the online course. You must score at least 85% on the exam to pass. You have unlimited attempts to pass the exam. If you don’t complete the exam in one session, don’t worry. When you log in later, you will be taken to the first unanswered question of the exam.

What is the proof of online Connecticut Bowhunter Ed Course completion?

Once you pass the Modified Bowhunting Field Day Qualifier Exam and pay for the Bowhunting Completion Certificate, you will be able to immediately print out the In-Person Field Day Voucher. This is your proof of online course completion. You can print the In-Person Field Day Voucher right then, and/or request that a PDF be emailed to you.

What is the permanent Connecticut Bowhunting Completion Certificate?

The Bowhunting Completion Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed the online education requirements. Once you have completed all requirements, your Bowhunting Completion Certificate will appear on your license. You can reprint your profile at any time by logging on to Online Sportsmen Licensing.
