Course Outline

To hunt deer with archery equipment, you must have a valid Resident Hunting License and Deer License, which must be purchased annually. You also must pay an annual Wildlife Habitat Fee.

Deer Licenses may be Any-Deer or Antlerless-Deer-Only licenses. Both types of Deer Licenses are valid for both parts of the bow season.

To hunt turkeys with archery equipment, you must have a valid Resident Hunting License and Turkey License, which must be purchased annually. You also must pay an annual Wildlife Habitat Fee.

Turkey Hunting Licenses may be Archery-Only or a Combination Gun/Bow License.

To bowfish, you also will need a Sport Fishing License. This will allow you to take certain species of rough fish and frogs according to the Iowa regulations.
